Easy to Make with Cricut Scrapbook Page Idea: Christmas fun
70Here I go again, continuing to make the scrapbook spanning 20 years of childhood. Scrapbooking is so much fun, you get to see the photos you've taken of your children and friends over again and with some imagination and a Cricut personal cutting machine you can display them on a scrapbook layout with cardstock.
The scrapbook album I am making will be a book filled with memories for my daughter and her child; something I hope that she will cherish for years to come.
Using the Cricut personal cutting machine or die-cutting machine makes the process so much more fun and special too. I have so many choices on shapes, sentiments, and frame mats for the photos. I've also begun to use acrylic and rubber stamps to add embelishments and sentiments to my scrapbook layouts.
Specifics
Cricut Cartridge: Simply Charmed
Stamps: Close to My Heart "Holiday Jubilee" collection
Scrapbook cardstock: Medium to Heavy Weight
Cricut Machine Pressure: Max
Cricut Machine Speed: Medium
Cricut Cutouts: I used the wider "Present" cutout; however, the same layout can be made using the taller, thinner cutout.
Cricut Machine Blade Depth: #2
Step by Step
Choose a subtly patterned piece of scrapbooking cardstock. I chose a green piece because of the Christmas themed scrapbook layout.
Cut one each <Ornament>, pg 62, size 3 1/2" and 2 1/2". Use the white cardstock because it won't matter the color of cardstock. Poke out the ornament cutout and save the outline by cutting around it, leaving some edge to the square.
With a scrapbooking thick tipped pen or a sponge from Stampin'Up! rub the image of the ornament all over your scrapbook layout paper. You can either use the outline or completely fill in the ornament shape.
Cut your photos to a desired size or cut out the Cricut shape first, then cut the photo to fit.
Photo Mats:
I cut each <Present2>, pg 67, sized 5", 4" and 3 3/4", and 3 1/2" for the different photos I had. Use the following keys:
- Using the Shift andBase keyboard key. This will cut out the top layer for your photo to adhere to.
- Using the Shift, Layer 2 and base keyboard key. This will cut out the main Bow cutout.
- Using the Shift, Layer 4 and base keyboard key. This will cut out the bow's ties.
- Using the Shift, Shadow and base keyboard key. This will cut out the bottom larger layer.
Adhere Photos
For each photo: To the bottom shadow layer adhere the Base key layer, add the photo, then adhere the bow and bow ties on top.
Embellishment Presents (Use plain cardstock to journal if you wish):
Cut one <Present2>, pg 67, size 3 3/4" and one 4" using the Shift, Layer 1, and base keyboard key. This will cut out the present with the smily face.
Cut one <Present2>, pg 67, size 3 3/4" and one 4" using the Shift, Layer 2, and base keyboard key. This will cut out the present's bow and cheeks for the face.
Cut one <Present2>, pg 67, size 3 3/4" and one 4" using the Shift, Layer 4, and base keyboard key. This will cut out the present's bowties.
Adhere Embellishment Presents
Adhere the three layers together.
Arrange the adhered layered cutouts to your scrapbook layout page.
Stamping:
Using the "Merry Christmas" stamp from Close to My Heart, I randomly stamped the sentiment all over the scrapbook layout page.
Journaling:
Cut one <Present2>, pg 67, size 3 1/2" using the Shift, Shadow, and base keyboard key. I cut mine in white cardstock.
Cut one <Present2>, pg 67, size 3 1/2" using the Shift, Layer 2, and base keyboard key. This cutout the bow and cheeks.
Using a milky white scrapbook pen, I wrote on the embellishment presents; then a darker scrapbook pen on the white journaling "present" i cutout.
Done!
