Easy to Make Friendship 2-Way Fold Card
66This card celebrates Friendship and as with all of my homemade cards the fact that it is made at home gives me the opportunity to add specific colors and phrases/sentiments, to make the card a one-of-a-kindl for the special person who is getting it.
I made this homemade greeting card from a 10"x8" piece of cardstock and folded it so that the front flap folded over from the back. When the recipient opens the card, they will lift up the front flap, then open the card from right to left. It's a fun twist for a greeting card and gave me the opportunity to try something new.
Cricut Die-Cutting Machine and Stamping
Lately I have been using acrylic and rubber stamps to add to my cards that I create with the Cricut machine.
The accurate cuts of thousands of different shapes that the Cricut machine can create give me so many choices for the themes for my homemade cards. The Cricut cartridges each come with a theme and are easy to use.
The stamps, from Stampin'Up! add another dimension, giving me sentiments, backgrounds, and images to add to my cards. The high quality stamps that I have recently begun to use stamp the image on the cardstock in a clean and crisp way.

Step by Step
Cardstock Cutting and Folding:
For directions, I used White cardstock.
Take a green patterned piece of cardstock and cut it, using your Cricut Paper Cutter, to be size 10" x 8".
Fold the green cardstock lengthwise to be 5" x 8"
For a clean, sharp fold, use the folding tool from the Cricut Essentials Kit.
On the inside of the card, measure down 4" and cut out the 4"x5" square of cardstock. From the outside of the card you will now have the front 4" x 5" bottom half showing with the back of the card the total 5"x8" size.
Fold over the back section of the card toward the front. This will become the front flap of the card. Now when the card is opened, you will lift the front flap, then open the card from right to left.
Cut a 4" x 5" piece of pink cardstock and adhere it to the bottom half of the front of the card.
Draw a design on the inside of the fold-over front flap and cut it out. Now your front flap of the card is more than just a square and it is folded over the coordinating cardstock front flap.
Stamping Cartridge for the Cricut Machine cutout:
Cut one each <Vctrnfrn>. Yellow cardstock, size 2". Green cardstock, size 1 3/4". Pink card, size 1 1/2". These will be the background mats for your stamp.
Cut two <Vctrnfrn>, size 1", using the base keyboard key using the green cardstock. These will be the background cutouts for the two small butterfly stamps.
Cut two <Vctrnfrn>, size 1", using the base keyboard key using the pink cardstock.
Stamping:
From the "For Everything" set from Stampin'Up!
- Stamp the small butterfly on each of the two pink Vctrnfrn cutouts.
- Stamp the Friendship sentiment on the larger pink Vctrnfrn cutout.
Carefully remove the stamp without sliding it to smudge the image, let dry a few seconds.
Adhering:
Adhere the yellow Cricut cutout to the middle top front flap of the card. Adhere the green cardstock on top of that. Adhere the pink cardstock on top. You can use a 3D square for the top layer, which I didn't do.
Adhere the two 1" green cardstock Vctrnfrn to the top right and left of the front flap of the card. Stick a 3D square on each green cutout. Adhere the pink cardstock on top.
Finish:
Add a pretty bow to the point of the flap where you would lift it up.
Done!
