Cutco and the importance of a sharp knife

In response to a question I received from a reader about the sharpest knives, the brand of knife I choose is made by Cutco, manufacturer of knives along with many other useful kitchen and home items. Along with being very sharp for accurate and safe use, Cutco knives also feature a special handle called a "wedge lock" handle design. It fits any size hand, left or right, big or small, and the thumb and forefinger lock into place on the handle giving a better, safer grip which reduces hand fatigue as well. The Cutco knives are very sharp and it is amazing how quickly and accurately I can trim and cut the meats, fruits, and vegetables I am preparing to cook.

I have always heard that the easiest way to get cut while cooking is by using a dull knife. The safest and easiest way to prepare your foods is by using a sharp knife. For instance, you decide to cut up an apple. The smooth skin of the apple could cause a dull knife to slide rather than cut into the skin. At that point there is a greater danger of being cut than there would have been had the knife cleanly sliced into the skin. Kitchen safety depends on concentration and attention to the task at hand. Definitely make sure that you handle all kitchen knives and utensils with care and safety in mind. Keep your fingers out of the way of the direction in which you are cutting.

Also, when making sandwiches I remember having 2 utensils ready to use, the spatula to dig out the salad dressing or mayo and a knife to cut the meats and the finished sandwich. Now I can do it all with one utensil, it is a spatula for spreading but it has a edge to cut with, called the Double D Edge (double durable). This edge last 7-10 years, a normal serrated edge last about 1-3 years. Yes it is easy to get excited about useful and beautiful kitchen helpers like the ones that Cutco makes.

Purchasing Cutco products is so easy. You don't have to get in your car and drive to a store, you can view all the products on their website at http://www.cutco.com. Then when you have decided on a product or have a question, you should contact an established Cutco representative. By doing this, you avail yourself to all the knowledge, specials and promotions they have to offer. The representative that I would recommend is Branden Robertson. He can be reached via phone at (260) 223-5025 or email at liliorkamoda@yahoo.com.

I used to sell Cutco. They're great knives, and I still have my Deluxe Homemaker set (even though some of the table knives have walked off!).
